This year you have helped us support and empower adults and children, families, and generations to transform their lives far beyond what our lifetime will reveal.
As 2017 comes to a close, I think of all the individuals and children our staff provided safety, hope, and healing to because of your support.
You helped Linda leave and successfully cut ties with her abuser of 42 years. She had experienced horrendous abuse spanning decades, but was finally able to break free with the support of staff who believed in her. She came to us without any finances, emotional support, or future goals. Linda is physically and mentally stronger than she ever has been and signs a lease for her own apartment on Tuesday thanks to your support of LCRC.
Becky had been the victim of sex trafficking prior to arriving at our shelter, Mary’s Place. She and her physically disabled 3-year-old daughter were finally able to experience safety and comfort. As a result of your support, we were able to assist her in obtaining her GED, driver’s license, and legally change her name to ensure a safe, new start for herself and her daughter.
Robert had no idea where to turn when his wife lost her battle with depression. He was provided food, clothing, and access to Mental Health Services for his children and himself. Your donations made this possible.
Because of your generosity, compassion, and kindness, we were able to provide Linda, Becky, and Robert and the countless other women, men, and children with hope. Through education, intervention and advocacy, LCRC staff works tirelessly to assist more than 2,000 clients in creating violence-free, healthier lives.
As the year comes to a close, all of us at Lakes Crisis & Resource Center would like to sincerely thank each of you for your on-going support. Please know that we could not serve and support adults and children during their darkest hours without your help.
Our warmest wishes are extended to you and yours during this holiday season!
