Each quarter we will highlight an LCRC Staff Member. This quarter, get to know Denielle Leland.

What is your title at LCRC?  Office Manager / Development Assistant

What does that entail? I receive donations, update our donor database, help with fundraising projects, work on the Annual Banquet committee, get the bills paid, do bank deposits, help with computer problems, and anything else that might come up during the day.

How long have you been with LCRC? I have been here since January 2015.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Working with a bunch of sincere, caring, and wonderful women who are like a family to me.

What is the most challenging part of your job? Trying to get everything done every day.

What is your background? I grew up in the Audubon/Detroit Lakes area and went to college at Minnesota State University Moorhead for Graphic Communications with an emphasis in Multimedia.  I moved around between Fargo/West Fargo/Valley City and finally settled in Hawley. Fun fact - I used to work at Disney World.

What is your dream vacation? I would love to go to New Zealand.

What is your favorite food? Steak and shrimp.

Who is the most influential person(s) in your life? My mom. She was a very patient, caring person with a heart of gold.  Even though she was sick most of her life, she had the most positive attitude.

What brought you to LCRC? My desire to help others.

What is your favorite movie? Toy Story.

Do you have a favorite childhood memory? Yes. On weekends we would go visit my grandparents in a little town of Holt, MN.  We would stop in Thief River Falls for a bucket of chicken from KFC. It was the longest 15 minute ride of our lives – smelling the chicken and wanting so bad to eat just one piece. Now every time I see a bucket of KFC I think of family time.
