Giving Hearts Day 2017February 9, 2017

Lakes Crisis & Resource Center is fortunate to again take part in Giving Hearts Day 2017! Giving Hearts day is a 24-hour online campaign hosted by Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Foundation, and the Alex Stern Family Foundation.

This year, $12,000 in match funding has been secured by Dakota Medical Foundation and the family of Irv Klinger making your gift of $10 or more MULTIPLY. Giving Hearts Day has historically been a wonderful chance to encourage community support and fundraise for the Lakes Crisis & Resource Center. We ask you to share your heart with LCRC on Giving Hearts Day 2017 on February 9th.

Due to donations received through Giving Hearts Day, in 2016 we successfully provided services to over 1,330 community members in need. While we are incredibly proud of our services in the last year, the need seems to always exceed our capacity. We look to you to help us continue to meet the needs of our community and generations to come.

This year we intend to focus our efforts to support our services and programs for children including Kinship and Children’s Services. Through Kinship, a program of Lakes Crisis & Resource Center, we connect caring adult volunteers with children who could benefit from a positive role model in their life; we believe that every child deserves a trusted confidant, compassionate friend, and positive role model. Through our Children’s Services we strive to provide support and education to children that have found a safe home in Mary’s Place, our shelter. We provide education on topics including healthy relationships and dealing with anger in hopes to stop the cycle of abuse. We believe that early support and intervention can help make the difference in a young life.

Your donation will help change someone’s life. You can provide shelter to a family that needs a place to feel safe. You can help educate our community to end the cycle of domestic violence. You can help those that are abused – mentally and physically – receive legal assistance to finally find safety. You can provide food, clothing, and toys to families that had to give up everything in order to be free from abuse. You can provide stability. You can provide hope. You can change a life with a small donation. LCRC is dedicated to providing safety, hope, and healing to those in need. We cannot do that without the support of our communities; we cannot do that without your help.

Visit and share your heart and share your hope with LCRC on Giving Hearts Day 2017 on February 9th.
